§1General provisions#
The Fablaria website, available at fablaria.pl(the “Service”), provides original summaries of book series, interactive maps, series encyclopedias, and reading tools, including a spoiler-protection mechanism (“Spoiler Shield”). These Terms set out the rules for using the Service and for the provision of services by electronic means.
The Service Provider is the publisher of the Service (contact details in §12). Using the Service is free of charge and does not require registration; creating an Account is voluntary and adds the features described in §4. By using the Service, you accept these Terms.
§2Definitions#
- Content: summaries, descriptions, maps, timelines, and other editorial materials of the Service.
- Bookmark: a reader’s saved progress (volume and chapter) in a chosen series.
- Spoiler Shield: a mechanism that trims the Content to the user’s Bookmark.
- Account: a voluntarily created user account (e-mail address + password).
- Notes: a user’s private notes pinned to chapters, visible only to that user.
§3Technical requirements#
Using the Service requires an up-to-date web browser with JavaScript and cookies / localStorage enabled (without them, the guest Bookmark and signing in will not work). The Service works on desktop computers and mobile devices and does not require installing any software.
§4Scope of services#
- Browsing the Content, maps, and encyclopedias is available to everyone, without registration.
- The Bookmark and Spoiler Shield are available without an Account (stored solely in the user’s browser).
- Account features: Bookmark synchronization across devices, Notes, voting for upcoming series, a custom team of characters tracked on the map, the “reveal all” mode, saving a recap path, and (subject to separate consent) e-mail notifications about new content.
- The Waitlist („Księga Oczekujących”, shown in the Service as „the Book of Those Who Wait”): a voluntary sign-up for e-mail updates about new chapters, sagas, and Service features. Signing up does not require an Account and happens solely with your consent (you provide an e-mail address and, optionally, a first name); you can unsubscribe with a single click in the footer of every message or by writing to kontakt@fablaria.pl.
- “Your feedback” („Twoje zdanie”): a form for sharing opinions about the Service. Sending a letter does not require an Account; providing a signature or contact address is voluntary and serves solely the purpose of a possible reply.
Content marked as “in preparation” may be incomplete or in draft form. We develop it progressively and correct reported errors.
§5User account#
An Account is created by providing an e-mail address and a password; the agreement for maintaining the Account is concluded for an indefinite period upon confirmation of the e-mail address. The Account is free. You must be at least 16 years old to create an Account (younger users need a guardian’s consent); the Content is available to everyone without an Account.
The user may terminate the agreement at any time by requesting deletion of the Account (§7 of the Privacy Policy). Deleting the Account also deletes all associated data. Keep your password safe from third parties; the Service never asks for your password by e-mail.
§6Voting and series suggestions#
Voting for upcoming series follows the rule of 1 Account = 1 vote per series; a vote can be withdrawn or changed. When submitting a suggestion for a new series, do not include any personal data in it; we use suggestions solely to plan the development of the Service.
§7User notes#
Notes are private: the Service does not publish them, does not share them with other users, and does not use them for any purpose other than displaying them to their owner. Storing unlawful content in the Service is prohibited. Notes can be exported to a file in the profile settings.
§8Content and copyright#
The summaries published in the Service are original discussionsof literary works, written in the editors’ own words (like reviews or study guides). The rights to the discussed works belong to their authors and publishers; the Service does not publish excerpts of the works beyond the limits of permitted quotation and encourages readers to buy the books.
The Service’s Content is protected by copyright. You may use it for your own personal use and quote it with attribution; copying the Content for commercial purposes requires the Service Provider’s consent.
§9External and affiliate links#
The Service may contain links to bookstores and other external sites, including affiliate links: if you buy a book through such a link, the Service may receive a commission, and the price you pay does not change. Affiliate links are labeled. The operators of external sites are responsible for their content.
§10Liability#
We make every effort to keep the Spoiler Shield working correctly, but we do not guarantee that a user will never come across information that is ahead of their Bookmark (for example after deliberately using the “Reveal anyway” option, in the “reveal all” mode, or when browsing without a Bookmark).
The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance work or failures. We remedy them without undue delay. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits consumer rights arising from mandatory provisions of law.
§11Complaints and reports#
Complaints about the operation of the Service and matters related to Accounts: kontakt@fablaria.pl. Comments on the Content (factual errors, typos): redakcja@fablaria.pl. We handle complaints within 14 days of receipt; we send the reply to the address the complaint came from.
§12Amendments and final provisions#
These Terms may change as the Service develops. We will announce significant changes on this page, and Account holders will additionally be notified by e-mail, at least 14 days before the changes take effect. If you do not accept the changes, you may delete your Account before they take effect.
