Without an Account, the Service stores no data about you on its side: your Bookmark and settings live in your browser (localStorage + a cookie). The Bookmark cookie is sent to the server solely to trim the page content before it is served. We do not store it and do not link it to any person.
§3Purposes and legal bases#
- maintaining the Account and its features: contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR),
- handling submissions and complaints: contract and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)),
- e-mail notifications about new content: only with your consent, given via a switch in the settings; consent can be withdrawn at any time (Art. 6(1)(a)),
- the Waitlist (messages about new chapters, sagas, features, and early access): consent given by knowingly adding yourself to the Waitlist (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent with a single click in the footer of every message or by e-mailing kontakt@fablaria.pl; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of messages sent before the withdrawal,
- security and server logs: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)),
- visit statistics: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)); we use Vercel Analytics in a version with no cookies and no identification of individuals, so we only see aggregate visit counts.
§4Who we entrust data to#
Infrastructure providers store data on our behalf, under data processing agreements:
- Supabase: database and sign-in system; Account data is stored on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt),
- Vercel: hosting of the Service and aggregate statistics; headquartered in the USA, with technical data transferred under mechanisms approved by the European Commission (Data Privacy Framework / standard contractual clauses),
- Resend: sending e-mail messages (registration confirmations, password resets, Waitlist messages); it processes only the e-mail address, first name, and message content. Messages are handled in the European region (Ireland); the provider is headquartered in the USA, and transfers take place under mechanisms approved by the European Commission,
- ImprovMX: forwarding incoming mail from the addresses kontakt@fablaria.pl and redakcja@fablaria.pl to the mailbox of the Service’s publisher; it processes the content of the messages you send us.
We do not sell data and do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
§5How long we keep data#
- Account data and reading data: until the Account is deleted,
- the Waitlist: until you withdraw consent (unsubscribe), and if you never do, no longer than 3 years after the last message sent,
- letters to the scriptorium: up to 2 years after receipt (feedback helps us develop the Service); if you included an address in your letter, we will delete it earlier at your request,
- server logs: up to about 30 days,
- submissions and complaints: for the time of handling plus the limitation period for claims,
- database backups: overwritten cyclically, no later than 30 days after the data is deleted.
§6Your rights#
- access to your data and its rectification,
- erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”) and restriction of processing,
- data portability (an export of your Notes to a file is available in the profile settings),
- objection to processing based on legitimate interest,
- withdrawal of any consent at any time (without affecting prior processing),
- lodging a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (uodo.gov.pl), the Polish supervisory authority, if you believe we process data unlawfully.
To exercise your rights, write to kontakt@fablaria.pl; we reply within one month at the latest.
§7Account deletion#
You can delete your Account yourself in the profile settings(the “Account” card → “Delete account”). Deletion is immediate and irreversible. We delete the Account together with all its data: Bookmarks, Notes, votes, settings, and the profile. You can also send a request from the e-mail address linked to the Account to kontakt@fablaria.pl; we will then delete the Account without undue delay, within 14 days at the latest.
Data stored solely in your browser (the guest Bookmark and settings) is not on our servers; it stays with you until you clear it yourself (see the Cookie Policy, §4).
§8Children#
An Account may be created by persons who are at least 16 years old; younger users need the consent of a legal guardian. Browsing the Content without an Account involves no processing of personal data and is available to everyone.
